Vera

Vera will have a complicated orthosis to be made, and the girl will be able to walk and dance that she so much likes to do.

Vera is a cheerful six-year-old girl from Daugavpils, who likes doing all the nice little girls' things — singing, drawing dolls, horses, flowers. The girl also learns to read and write hard. She likes washing the dishes and helping her mom with housework. Vera is the eldest sister of her brother and sister, and soon the fourth baby is expected in the family.

As there are younger children in the family, Vera is always with her grandmother in the hospital. The girl has a congenital leg defect. Vera had her first surgery when she was eight months old, but in total seven leg extension surgeries have already been made. The girl has not only the leg length difference, but there are also undeveloped knee and ankle joints that cannot be operated.

Although the current Vera's orthosis is uncomfortable and rubs the leg, the girl likes dancing. Thanks to donations raised in the framework of the campaign Angels above Latvia, Vera will have the much needed and complicated orthosis to be made, and the girl will be able to walk, dance and do her favourite things!
